Today's guest is George Andriopoulos who at one time was chosen King of Long Island (King George has a ring to it) and has made a career of being a management consultant (CEO of Launchpad 516), as well as a successful Leadership Academy (the Leadership Experience) and somehow finds time to balance clients, home life (wife including 3 children) and a successful podcast - The Launchcast.  This Launchdad comes on and shares his leadership philisophy and explaining what Peace, Love and Bring a bat means to him.

George has given 3 Tedx speeches as well as been the Executive Producer of other 3 Tedx events. He is an award winning consultant, keynote speaker, philanthopist and his most important job is that of being Launchdad and Launchhusband.

We have all heaRd of Dr. Seuss and I would Risk much to say that we have all Read one of his books at one time oR anotheR. Today's pop-up episode was cReated early in the morning of March 2nd 2021 because of a dream I had.

The dReam was Related to some Seussisms about "Oh those Places You'll See" and how when we "Read with our Eyes Shut" we might miss much.

Our version of the Canterbury Tales

Today we begin another part of our journey with the first episode with an amazing guest our very own, Dr. DeLon Canterbury. In Chaucer’s tale when he talks about the doctor - a member of the middle class. The doctor possesses unparalleled skill and was not afraid to trust the science of the time to use whatever tools he has to care for his patients.

Our own doctor, Delon, is a pharmacist who founded GeriatRx, a telehealth, medication management company that focuses on reducing health expenses for caregivers.

Our current health care system is a broken, outdated and flawed system that ultimately leaves patients, caregivers, and providers with so many gaps in care that result with confusion and hopelessness from the patient. GeriatRx provides patient empowerment, education, and advocacy that saves our patients and caregivers the headache of navigating a complex health system. Phoenix Rise

This is the last of the "Getting to know Uncle Dave" episodes - You made it! Congratulations!

 

The Phoenix is a story of is one resilience of a beautiful bird who rises from its own ashes and soars to great heights.  The Phoenix rise is who I am - the first time I thought of myself was May 11, 2006. As life challenges us we learn to rise from our ashes and become our own Phoenix. I have told this story a few times including my Tedx Farmingdale speech Rise and Resiliency: Becoming a Phoenix.

During our journey we will hear from others who will share their journey and how they rose and found resilience to soar for themselves. 

 

On the P.A.T.H.

Another "Getting to know Uncle Dave episode". This episode is about an acronym I created six years ago for my coaching practice. The On the P.A.T.H which each letter in the word path meaning something else - Personal Attitude Towards Happiness.

I will explain how being on the right path for me leads me to unexpected places and opportunities. I will share my thoughts around this and hopefully you can find a meaning for you.

Hey! Do you know a guy? - well that is how many of us grew up by knowing the right person who can get something done.  Just like bring a bat in our podcast does not mean that we are looking for violence. "Knowing a person" isn't about bringing the tough guys to deal with an issue. 

It is finding the right people to help in tough situations and connecting them.  One this podcast we will be talking to many people who are involved in charitable work and we will be gathering the "GOON SQUAD" for those who will want to continue to do work. 

And that my friends is what Goons for Good will be about and another of my greatest passions is connecting people who want to do good with those who need know there is good in the world.  We are all not alone!

At one point in each of our lives we have or will go through puberty.  I am sure everyone has a story related to their experiences and while we didn't think we could get through it - We did!  

As you've been listening life is a journey or even a process that we all go through.  Well not everyone needs to go through all the parts of life the same.  I had been thinking - how the hell did I get here?  

Then life hit me hard. COVID hit us all hard but it make me look even deeper and what did I come out of this with - CLUBERTY (TM). Something we might all experience going through life but eventually figure out the process to help us get through the other side.  Its not determined by age or biological.  You don't have to go through it but are better off for going through it. You can be 16 - 46 or 86 but you are better for going through the process and that my friend is CLUBERTY (TM).

Kid Ego

In the late 80's there was this song that resonated with me as I moved out of my teenage years into adulthood and that song was "Kid Ego". It was sung by one of the many hair rock bands that the late 1980's built. This song talked about an individual who was all EGO.  Someone who wouldn't listen to advice. Our Ego feeds us what we want to hear and we chase the shiny objects until the day it comes back to us. 

For me the day of reckoning came last year when I made an attempt on my life. I learned my lessons and as the song goes - a little modesty would suit you better.  Once I gave it a try I rose once again after remembering who I am.  The bigger they are the harder the fall and I fell. 

My friend who will alway be a part of me - Kid Ego is now put to rest because of who I really am is "Uncle Dave".
